We face a warning that hits close to home: the greatest threat to wholehearted love for God often comes not in hardship, but in comfort and success. Deuteronomy 6:10-25 warns Israel that when they settle into houses they didn't build and enjoy abundance they didn't earn, they must be careful not to forget the Lord.
